Spectra Alpharetta is seeking a skilled and dependable Senior Production Assembler to perform complex mechanical and electronic assembly tasks in support of aerospace and defense manufacturing. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical documentation to ensure high-quality product builds.
Scope of Responsibility
Core Objectives
- Assemble components and systems according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Support production efficiency and mentor junior assemblers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed mechanical and/or electronic assembly using hand tools, fixtures, and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and bills of materials.
- Conduct inspections during and after assembly to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Identify and report nonconformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Train and guide junior assemblers on best practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve build issues and improve processes.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in mechanical and/or electronic assembly techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Familiarity with ESD procedures, soldering, and IPC standards (if applicable).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in production assembly, preferably in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
- Experience with precision assembly, cable harnessing, or PCB assembly is a plus.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices is desirable.
- Must be a US Person as defined by ITAR and eligibility to obtain a security clearance may be required
